LESSONS LEARNT FROM IMPLEMENTING A 4 DAY WORKING WEEK AT OUR VIDEO GAME STUDIO

Last year we announced in a blog post that GLITCHERS was permanently moving towards a 4 day work week structure. 5 months on, we’re taking a look back at the impact our new working structure has had on the company.

WHAT IS A 4 DAY WORK WEEK?

The 4 day work week is a part of a global movement to increase not just productivity but also encourage a healthier work-life balance and lower stress levels. Put simply: instead of working Monday – Friday, we work Monday – Thursday then log off for the weekend.

What does every evil megacorporation need? An ace team of delivery drivers to GET STUFF DONE. Let’s meet BuyCorp’s roster:

In Season One of Drive Buy, there’ll be six characters to unlock and play. Each character comes with their own customisable vehicle, a unique play style and handling, and of course a dramatic and probably heartbreaking backstory.

It all began when BuyCorp started to implement a new, dangerous brainwashing technology in the neon cityscapes of Drive Buy. Posters and billboards started to appear encouraging the VERY LOYAL customers of BuyCorp to BUY MORE STUFF. Keep an eye out and you’ll spot them around the game! Just don’t stare at them for too long… 😵

Drive Buy Final Beta – The Who, What, When, Where

We’re delighted to announce that the Drive Buy beta is NOW LIVE! On Friday 29th we dropped 250 keys and welcomed so many new drivers into the fray over the weekend.

There’s still time to get in on the gameplay though! You can sign up at drivebuygame.com or head over to Steam where we’ll be opening up a playable demo from Wednesday 3rd February at 6pm.

But now that we are live, what exactly is happening during the beta and what can players expect? Well, for starters this beta lasts an awesome 3 weeks and we’ve got heaps of new content rolling out in waves for you to test. Each week of content starts on a Friday, here’s a breakdown:

Community Update 01

Welcome To Drive Buy

Since we have a few new faces around here, allow me to introduce myself: I’m Hugh from Glitchers . I’ll be bringing you announcements on everything Drive Buy through our social platforms and hosting the weekly Twitch Stream. I wanted to give you a rundown of what will you can expect in upcoming Drive Buy blog posts.

Each week there will be a new blog post, alternating between either a development or community update. When there’s a new build to shout about, I’ll be letting you know about all the cool new features and between those weeks I’ll be taking the content you’ve created and writing up a community post. Pretty simple!

This is our first community blog post, so welcome! In future this post will range from player shoutouts to game play tips and tricks showing off the latest new features released in the latest Drive Buy update.
