This week we tackled some usability around joining matches. We wanted to make it super simple and have a backup if there were no games to join the instant you started looking. Drive Buy also needed an easy way to invite other steam friends to join in.

A Match List that feels alive

Seeing other Drive Buy matches progress in real time

We used to hide matches in progress, but this week we made them visible and Hugo made their progress visible to players wanting to get into a match. You actually see the match playing out right in front of your eyes! It’s pretty cool and works better than expected. We are wondering how it will scale when the beta opens.

A party for your Steam friends

Drive Buy matches are party sized, being made up of 4 players in total. In that sense, they’re kind of like a party.

Your friends, this party.

We made it a one press to bring up the invites list, everyone you invite who already has drive buy installed presses “Join” and the rest is seamless. Next thing you know, your friend is right there, choosing whether to select Bishop or Valentino.

We’re looking forward to working closely with the community, and we’ll be reaching out to ensure that we factor in your feedback and ideas.

Share this insider knowledge with your friends on social media and invite them to sign-up for the BETA. Stay tuned for more details on our Discord, Forum and Twitter.

Just remember that the game is still in active development and doesnโ€™t represent the final quality that will hit Steam this year.
